Trouble shooting your vehicle graphics. You may encounter a few minor problems during the fitting process. This page lists some of the most common problems and the action you need to take to resolve them. Common problemsI can't get the masking tape to stick to the bodyworkThis indicates your bodywork may have a wax or silicone polish on it. The best thing to do is clean the bodywork with a solvent to remove the wax/ silicone. A good, cheap cleaner is standard lighter fluid. IMPORTANT- always check any solvent cleaner on a hidden area of paintwork to check that it's no going to damage your paintwork. Can I fit my lettering on a cold day?If the temperature is below 50C we do not recommend you try to fit your graphics. In very cold weather the vinyl material will not stick to your paintwork very well- this makes removing the paper cover tape difficult- the lettering underneath usually comes off with the paper. Wait for a warmer day or work indoors with a heat source. The lettering is hard to peel away from the backing paperIf this happens simply rub over the surface of the graphics before you try to peel them away from the paper. The pressure of your rubbing will make the letters stick more firmly to the paper cover tape. Does water affect the fitting of vehicle graphics? The graphics themselves are totally weatherproof. The backing paper which they are supplied on is not. If the backing paper gets wet it is very hard to remove from the lettering. You may also find fibres from the paper stuck to the back of the lettering. Fit your lettering on a dry day. How do I get bubbles out of my letters? You can use a pin or the point of a sharp knife to pierce any bubbles. What are the benefits of using the Cheeta Fluid supplied?Using the fluid will prevent the vinyl material sticking instantly. Using fluid makes the process a lot easier. When removing the paper cover tape you may find the letters lift off the bodywork. If this happens lay the paper back down and rub over the lettering again. Spray some fluid onto the paper tape- this will soften the paper's adhesive and make it easier to pull away. I need to change my phone number- what do I do?We keep a master copy of your graphics on our CD archive. If you need to make any changes to your graphics get in touch. We can send you a new phone number or whatever you need to change. Because we use the original file to create your new lettering it is guaranteed to fit. I have some stubborn dirt which I can't get off the bodywork what shall I use? These dirt spots are usually small deposits of road tar. We would suggest you use lighter fluid to remove these marks. How long should I wait before washing the vehicle? You should really wait about 7 days before washing your vehicle. Vinyl needs a short time to reach full adhesion. If you use a pressure washer you should always stand well back from the vehicle. Even fully cured lettering can be blasted off your vehicle by a powerful jet wash.
