If you have CNC produced sign lettering you the need the right fixing system. Using our experience and know how we have put together a selection of fixing systems which will allow you to fix sign lettering in virtually every location.

Option 1- locators

Good for flat surfaces- slightly rough or smooth.sign letter fixing system cup and peg

Locators are our most widely used sign lettering fixing system. We bond clear nipples onto the back of your sign lettering. We then make an accurate, computer drawn template of your sign lettering. This template has the correct spacing and letter positions on it. The template is used as a master guide for installing your sign lettering correctly.

Fix the template in place- level and square. On each letter there will be drill points. Drill a 6mm diameter hole in your brick or concrete wall at every drill point. For cladding or wood use a 3mm diameter pilot drill.

Remove the template and screw the White cups into each hole.

Then, simply lift up your letters and push the nipples on the back into the White cups- you will hear a clicking sound when the fixings have been completely connected.

Option 2- High bond tape

For smooth surfacesdouble sided tape sign lettering system

The easiest and quickest sign lettering fixings system is high bond tape. On the back of each letter we fit high bond strength, waterproof tape.

To fix the lettering just peel off the Yellow backing tape and push firmly against the fitting surface- this must be smooth.

It is recommended that you clean the fitting surface with lighter fluid, meths or similar solvent. Make sure that any solvent uses has evaporated completely before fixing letters.

Do not use White Spirit to clean the mounting surface at this leaves a greasy residue.

Tape is good for fixing letters around a curve and for internal display letters.

Option 3 Threaded rod

For curved brickwork, roughcast, deep rendered or stone claddingsign letter fitted with threaded rod

Threaded rod sign letter fixings allow you to mount your letters on rough, uneven surfaces.

Similar in principle to the cup & peg system, threaded rods can be push/ pulled inside the mounting holes allowing you to get all your sign letters in a consistent, flat aspect.

This system uses templates and drill points like cup & peg.

Instead of plugging the drilled holes you squirt in Tradefix adhesive or mastic sealant.

The treaded rods push into the holes and the adhesive allows you to push each letter back or pull it forward- this lets you get each letter flat and vertically alligned.

When you drill the template you need to go deeper than you would if using plugs- this allows you enough space to push in the threaded rods.

When the adhesive sets the letters will be fixed permanently.

Option 4- glue

For smooth surfaces or normal brickworksign letter fixing glue system

Sign letter fixing with our glue system could not be easier. Simply gun on Tradefix adhesive to the back of each letter- allow an edge around the letter which you keep clear of glue- this will stop excess glue squeezing out.

Lift the letter up to the fixing surface and push firmly into place.

You need to support the letters whilst the glue sets- you can do this will small nails under the letters or alternatively you can put straps of adhesive tape across each letter- wide masking tape and duck tape work well.

Do not use Gripfill type glue, it's not waterproof so can't be used outdoors. Our Tradefix product is as strong and totally waterproof. Tradefix fits in a normal silicon gun and flows out like silicon mastic.

Option 5- threaded nut baseplate

For heavy letters or thin wall cladding

For this type of sign lettering fixing we use a special bonded nut baseplate system. An M8 nut is welded to a special, wide disc diameter baseplate and bonded to the back of the letter using epoxy structural adhesive.

This system uses a layout templatesign letter fixing nut

You drill right through the wall you need to fix to and place a washer in front and behind the hole.

An M8 threaded rod is wound into the letter baseplates and fed through the wall holes until the rod shows on the inside.

An M8 nut is fixed onto the inside end of the rod and tightened until each rod is secure.sign lettering nut system

This system works great for big or heavy letters. We can supply rods, nuts and everything you need.

Proven sign letter fixing systems

These sign letter fixing systems are proven to work. Each one has been used by our own installers many times.

All components, tapes and glues are professional grade and designed for maximum strength and grip.

Acrylic Cement

The strongest way to bond acrylic material.

Acrylic cement is a specifically designed to bond acrylic material in the strongest possible way.

This product works by melting slightly both pieces of acrylic you wish to join. This allows the adhesive to flow into each part and when set the join is very strong.

This product comes in various strengths and requires a few drops of activator which comes in a separate bottle
