A great product starts with quality materials. We use high quality exterior grade stainless steel in a range of thicknesses (gauges). When specifying 3D stainless steel lettering it's important to think in terms of metal rather than plastics.
For 3D plastic lettering a thickness of material of around 3mm is the accepted norm. For 3D stainless steel lettering a thickness or gauge of 1.5mm is more than adequate.

How are your 3D stainless steel letters made?
3D stainless steel lettering consists of two parts- the face and the
return. The face
part of your 3D stainless steel letter is simply a flat
letter cut from stainless material. The return is a strip of steel which
is turned on it' side vertically and attached to the perimeter of the
face letter. This is called in the sign trade built up stainless steel
lettering.
By adjusting the width of the return strip we can change how thick your 3D stainless steel letter will look. This photo shows letters with 25mm wide return strips applied around the perimeter of the letter face (the White & Blue shown on the faces is a protective covering which is removed during installation of the letters).
What types of stainless steel can you choose from?
We can make your 3D stainless steel lettering from most types of stainless steel. Mirror finish/ Chrome look is our most popular material although brushed finish is also widely used. Built up stainless steel lettering can be manufactured in many sizes and many different typefaces.
Illuminated 3D stainless steel lettering.
3D stainless steel lettering can be illuminated using a halo
technique. T
his involves installing White or coloured LED modules inside
the letter. The return strip fixed to the perimeter of the letter hides
the LED's from sight.
When the LED's are powered up the light shines back onto the fixing surface where the letters are installed. This creates a halo of light around each stainless steel letter.
